Building Improvement Grants 2023

Overview

Main Street Rock Hall, with funding provided by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development is happy to be able to support several building improvement projects in 2023. Six business, located in the Main Street corridor, will be splitting a total of $25,000 in grant funding.

2023 Grants Awarded

Congratulations to the following businesses:

  • Bayside Market is an independent, family owned and operated grocery store serving Rock Hall residents and visitors for more than 20 years. Bayside Market received a grant to replace their outdated and inefficient boiler system.
  • Baywolf Restaurant has served a highly rated menu of Austrian and Eastern Shore Cuisine to visitors and residents of Rock Hall for more than 25 years. Main Street Rock Hall provided a grant to Baywolf for the installation of a new, energy saving heat pump system.
  • Fresh Start Market is a produce and natural foods store opened in 2019 in a renovated car garage. Main Street Rock Hall provided Fresh Start with a grant to help them repair and replace their floor.
  • The Hickory Stick is a unique boutique that carries a bit of everything, from comfortable women's apparel and fashion accessories, including jewelry, to unusual gifts for men, women, couples, and children to home decor and bath & body. Main Street Rock Hall provided the Hickory Stick with a grant to help them install a new, more efficient HVAC system and a french drain around their building.
